Scheduled flights to the Portugueses capital city of Lisbon are frequent from 11 UK destinations. Travelling to the Azores from the UK requires a change over in Portugal while holiday flights to Funchal on the Island of Madeira can be taken from most UK airports.

Remember that if you wish to transport golf clubs then to ensure safe carriage and in order to be admitted as checked baggage, equipment must be properly packed, in hard and resistant material. Of course most airlines will charge an additional fee for the carriage of golf equipment so check your airlines small print before you book your holiday in Portugal.

For the more adventurous, who would like to take a leisurely drive to Portugal, then you can catch one of the many ferries to France or Spain from most southern ports in the UK. By Train

If you prefer to start your holiday in Portugal by train than you can reach Portugal in 36 hours from Paris. Using the high speed network, trains from Paris can arrive at the French/Spanish border town of Hendaye in 6 hours and from here you catch the famous ‘Sud Express’ to Lisbon.
